MET JULIET

CITY TOURS

Discover the truth
behind Shakepeare’s story on
this fascinating walking tour

from euro 130/person

This unique walking tour will take you back in time to medieval Verona, as we search for the truth behind the greatest love story of all time.

We’ll visit the places described in Shakespeare’s tragedy to decide if the events in Romeo and Juliet actually took place or are based purely on legend. Our investigation will take us to the palaces of the Montagues and the Capulets, then the places of their violent feuds, ending with the tomb of our heroine, Juliet.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_accordion active_section="0" no_fill="true" collapsible_all="true"][vc_tta_section title="Read More:" tab_id="whats"][vc_column_text] We’ll be on the lookout for clues around the city that have survived through the centuries, in search of historical facts to back up Shakespeare’s story.

The first time the world heard the names Montagues and Capulets together was in Dante's Divine Comedy. After him, countless authors wrote and rewrote the tale of the Veronese young lovers: from Luigi da Porto, to Matteo Bandello and many others. The version penned by William Shakespeare is the most well known and cherished throughout the world.

Is the story merely a romantic legend or could the events have really taken place, as many sources suggest? Join us in Verona and discover for yourself!

This tour is led by an engaging local expert on Shakespeare who is eager to share his knowlege with you. [/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_accordion active_section="0" no_fill="true" collapsible_all="true"][vc_tta_section title="Which sites are included on the walk:" tab_id="whats-walk"][vc_column_text]

DANTE IN VERONA

CITY TOURS

Discover how Dante
and his Verona
changed history

from euro 112/person

Follow us through the streets, squares and alleys frequented by Dante in his adopted city of Verona, after he was banished from Florence. Join us on this innovative and unique walking tour to discover an unprecedented Verona, seen through Dante Alighieri's experiences and writing.

Listen to his verses, explore his places, and become part of his Verona: the city that took in and protected this genius who would later give a language and an identity to an entire country.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_accordion active_section="0" no_fill="true" collapsible_all="true"][vc_tta_section title="Read More:" tab_id="whats"][vc_column_text]Dante Alighieri is doubtlessly one of the most acclaimed writers in history and the Divine Comedy, his masterpiece, possibly the greatest work of all time.

After he was banished from his home city of Florence, during the feuds between the Guelfs and Ghibellines in the late thirteenth century, he reached Verona and became a guest of Cangrande Della Scala. Cangrade was the most famous and glorious lord of the town.

And it was right here, in Verona, that Dante composed most of his Paradiso: the third and last part of the Divine Comedy that the poet dedicated in its entirety to his friend and host, Cangrande.

Without Verona and its ruler’s foresight and magnanimity, this masterpiece of Italian literature would have never been completed or worse yet, might have never survived through the centuries.

This tour is led by an engaging local expert on Dante who is eager to share his knowlege with you.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_accordion active_section="0" no_fill="true" collapsible_all="true"][vc_tta_section title="Which sites are included on the walk:" tab_id="whats-walk"][vc_column_text]

from euro 196/person

Spend a memorable day exploring Verona and the Valpolicella. Combine a fascinating city walk in the morning with a scenic drive into the countryside for an afternoon winery visit and tasting.

You’re in expert hands throughout the entire day: our city walks are led by knowledgeable and friendly local guides and our winery visits are led by accredited Italian sommeliers. And for the foodie in you, we include a typical lunch in a classic trattoria where you can try our local specialties. This special day trip can be tailored to match your interests and schedule.

The Valpolicella is located between Verona and Lake Garda, just north of Verona itself. This group of small valleys has been famous for its wine production for over 2,000 years. Discover all of the wines made here today, including Amarone, Ripasso, Valpolicella and Recioto. Learn about the local grape varietals and unique production methods directly from the winemakers. Enjoy the beautiful hilly scenery as you explore the Valpolicella Classic wine producing area with your private guide.
